Hometown Leaves 1

encaustic and mixed media on wood box

Memory of hometowns...from Southern California leaves and shells and bits of steel remind me of the many industries that made up my home town, found objects along a walk on a sidewalk and the many walks along the beach...to New York's Central Park where my Jewish relatives must have reveled in the vast setting of trees...to Silver Mountain and the aspen changing where my Scottish Great Grandfather must have noticed the gold of the trees and the gold hidden within the earth.
